Linkt SMS scam

Linkt is a well-known brand that provides toll road services in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, operated by Transurban. Currently, a scam text is circulating, claiming to be from Linkt, with messages related to overdue bills, payment issues, unpaid trips, vehicle information being out of date, and urging recipients to deal with the matter promptly.

These scam texts often come from unknown numbers, but worryingly, an increasing number of them are being spoofed to appear as if they were sent by Linkt. Most of these texts contain a URL that leads to a fake website designed to steal credit card details or other personal information.

A helpful rule to follow is to never call the number or click on a link provided in an SMS. Instead, visit the company’s official website to log in or call the listed number. If you’re unsure of the company’s website, perform a Bing or Google search. Well-known companies will always appear at the top of the search results.
